LOS ANGELES (September 18, 2018) -- WHERE DREAMS REST makes its World Premiere film screening at the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday, September 30, 2018. WHERE DREAMS REST is a film about immigration following a Chinese woman named Ah Wei played by Michelle Sun (White Bird, Gold Fortune) with a dream of reaching the United States and reuniting with her husband Lao Ge played by Zhan Wang(Binghamton).

WHERE DREAMS REST is written and directed by Elaine Wong (Three Chen Sisters) an MFA Film and Television Production graduate of USC along with Bachelor of Art degree in Literary Journalism from University of California, Irvine. "I know first-hand what it is like to leave a hometown, to experience the cost of immigrating, and dealing with the continual struggles to make sense of one’s identity while assimilating to this country," declared Wong.

Chinese migrants endure a dangerous journey by paying large sums of money to Snakeheads (smugglers) as they make their way through China to enter the U.S. through the Mexican border, so they can send money back home and have a better life.

"It was a fun experience to act within the tunnels for the film. I got a realistic impression of what it is like to cross the Mexico-U.S. border via an underground tunnel. I kept thinking about freedom and living in America," declared Ricardo Soto who played Mexican immigrant Carlos.

Partial cast members include Rob Lo (A Doll's Hug), Matthew Floyd Miller (Gun Woman), Zhan Wang (Empty Skies), Stacey Patino (Roses are Red), Charles Philip Campuzano (The Tragedy of Jimmy Jimmy Kates), Hector de Leon (Ribs), and Shawn Davis Mooney (Where Dreams Rest).

Rob Lo is repped by Henderson Represents, Inc (HRI Talent).
Matthew Floyd Miller is a SAG-AFTRA actor and repped by Brown Young Smith & Buchanan Talent Agency.
